BUILD WITH STEEL workshop at Opole University of Technology – 28.V.2018 r.

On May 28, 2018, BUILD WITH STEEL workshop was held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Opole University of Technology.

Classes with students were opened by dr inż. Arkadiusz Mordak – associate dean for cooperation and development, who welcomed the participants and the workshop leaders – dr inż. Wioleta Barcewicz from Warsaw University of Technology and dr inż. Anna Rawska-Skotniczny from Opole University of Technology.

The first lecture was devoted to renovations carried out using steel – a presentation based on ArcelorMittal materials and delivered by dr inż. Anna Rawska-Skotniczny. Students became acquainted with specific examples of such realizations, their requirements and possibilities. Then dr inż. Wioleta Barcewicz talked about the possibilities of designing steel constructions using the SKILLS Project modules – a tool developed by Polish Chamber of Steelwork and Warsaw University of Technology which is useful for lecturers and students. After a short coffee break, participants of the workshop were given gift sets funded by the Partners of the BUILD WITH STEEL Program.

Next, the presentation regarding the temporary amphitheater in Opole was given by dr inż. Anna Rawska-Skotniczny, who shared her own experience related to the construction and supervision of this facility. The workshop ended with the appearances of Andrzej Nowak – the President of the Management Board of FERMSTAL BFM sp. o.o., who talked about the practical side of designing and manufacturing of steel structures.
